You might think that your chimney is the perfect place for a fire, however, chimney fires are dangerous.
If your chimney has a blockage and smoke can’t escape, creosote can build up. This can cause chimney fires. A build-up of creosote is not only one of the leading causes of chimney fires across the globe, but it is also a health hazard.
Creosote can cause respiratory issues, rashes, sensitivity to light and even cancer.
Regular sweeping will remove any creosote, soot, cobwebs, bird nests and any other blockages, helping to keep your chimney fire free.

The frequency you need your chimney swept will depend on a number of factors such as the type of appliance you have, the type of fuel you burn and the duration of use. NACS advises the below:
Smokeless fuel: At least once a year
Wood: Quarterly when in use
Bituminous coal: Quarterly when in use
Oil: Once a year
Gas: Once a year
The best time to have your chimney swept is just before you want to start lighting your fire in the colder months. Due to high demand, we recommend that you book in advance.
